This year, Instagram has become significantly more business-friendly. Though we have talked about our favorite Instagram changes before, we wanted to dive deeper into these features and what they do for businesses on the social media platform.

One difference between a regular profile and  business profile, is the title the element of categorization. This can be found underneath the business profile picture, and is the same categorization as on Facebook. Not only does this organize Instagram more, but is also great for users interested in topics surrounding certain industries, and want to find businesses much easier.

 

Profile aesthetics are not  the only changes Instagram has made. Business analytic tools showing the geographic location of followers, and times that users are online, are also provided to businesses now. These tools provide new insights and assist in increasing user-interaction when used correctly.

 

Instagram business analytics include information about their followers they would not know before including  the age range, and gender proportions of their follower population. This information can be used by businesses when creating content and tailoring it to a business’s audience instead of shooting in the dark.

 

Companies can now better understand their audiences and discover what their content needs are. With this new information, Instagram is beginning to balance user and business-friendliness better, and provide each with the necessary feedback to create more interactions between businesses and users.
