Finding Your Niche on Social Media

You may know yourself and your brand, but getting this message across through social media may be a greater challenge than you realize – but don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. While looking at other companies’ social media profiles can be a great first step into getting inspired for your own business profile, it can quickly become overwhelming. Whether you are looking to clear up your feed, create a color scheme, or an overall mood for your page, the options can seem endless. It is easy to get caught up in other profiles and pages because they already have an established voice on social media.

Similar to interior design, you may like many different styles, but when it comes to executing in your own home, you need to create a look that you will want to live with every day. It should be true to you. It is completely natural and okay to like many different styles, but we have gathered some tips and tricks to help you hone in on what you would really like your social media voice to look like.

First and foremost, when creating your social media presence, your business personality should be clear. Your clients should be able to get a feel for you and the services you provide through your social media accounts. This may take some time to pinpoint, but once you have found the voice, it should come pretty naturally because it is coming from you. This is the idea of making your brand maintainable. You want to be able to continue creating content for your clients that is true to your brand. If it is coming from your heart it should not be hard to maintain this in the long term.

You should also be keeping your clients in mind. Who are you targeting? What would they like to see? While you should not alter your voice to fit your clients’ expectations, you should have them mind. They are your customers now because they liked something about your business, so keep them around!

How will you set yourself apart from the rest? Make sure that it’s clear that you are doing something that no one else is doing! Show your clients that you have your own spin. This will keep them excited to support you and they will look forward to what you have in store next.  Does your business source locally? Do you give back to your community in any way? Is your product or service created to serve a certain niche in the market? Make it known!
