The Art of Getting Reposted on Instagram

Today we will be unpacking the art (or science) of getting reposted on Instagram. This simple tool can really be a game-changer as it can quickly bring far more traffic to your page with just one simple repost, so imagine how much of a difference it can make when many people repost your image! There can be different motives behind getting your Instagram reposted, it could be wanting to increase your own page traffic, wanting to increase your clientele, getting another brand to come across your page, or a number of other things. Whatever your motive may be, we can help you get that coveted repost.

1.      Graphics

You can truly never go wrong with a cute or creative graphic if you have hopes of getting reposted. Let’s be honest, we’re all suckers for a great graphic. This is a great way to start when it comes to getting reposted because it has no limitations, anyone who likes the graphic can repost it. This is one of the easiest ways to get more people to notice your page. This could be anything from an image to a graphic art design, or even a quote.

2.      Invite people to a challenge

Everyone is up for a challenge! Post an image and challenge your followers to repost the image and tag their friends to enter in to win some sort of reward. The reward can be completely up to you – some ideas that I have seen include a giveaway, a percentage off the next time they shop with you, a gift basket, etc. You can really get creative with this. You can even include that they need to follow your page which is another great benefit of this tactic. Regardless, when a challenge or reward is involved, people will be more inclined to participate!

3.      Template

This is something that I have seen quite a few times, especially during the quarantine. Create a template for your followers and others to put on their story where they can fill in certain prompts. This could be anything from “What is your favorite dessert?” to “What do you look forward to doing most after Quarantine ends?”. Don’t forget to include your tag at the bottom and encourage the people who participate to tag their friends!

4.      Tag people or companies

If there are certain people or companies who you hope to repost your image to gain traction, tag them! It can’t hurt to try this. If you are tagging another company in hopes of them reposting your image, make sure you’re incorporating their product in a creative way. Also, study their Instagram page and see if you can post something that incorporates both of your styles.

5.      Make sure your feed is looking tip-top

At the end of the day, the goal of getting reposted is for more people to come across your page, and hopefully follow you. If you are posting “repost worthy” content, be ready for people to come to your page. Make sure your page is looking its best so people are that much more inclined to give you a follow – you want to keep them around after all!
