3 Questions Your Ads Need to Answer

Social media ads are a huge component for many brands using social strategy to increase brand awareness, send traffic to their website and improve sales. But, are you optimizing the use of your social media ads?  It is imperative that you make sure your ads are positively working for your brand and to help you do that, we’ve put together three questions you may want to ask yourself before your ad goes live.

 

1.     Am I Targeting A Specified Audience?

 

Please don’t make the mistake of creating an ad and having it targeted to all 6 million Atlanta natives.  Though you might think this a great idea because more eyes will see your ad, in truth, it will be served to people who potentially have no interest in your brand or service. This will force Facebook (or whatever social platform you are using) to serve the ad to more people in order to receive any sort of results, providing you with a lower clicker rate and a cost per click that is incredibly high.  

 

The more specific you can be with your target market, ,the more effective and the more efficient your ads will be.

 

 

2.     What Do I Want My Add to Prompt People To Do?

 

Are you looking for more page likes to increase brand awareness?  Do you want to get them to fill out a form?  Are you expecting the ad to generate more clicks back to the website?

 

All of these questions are important before you even choose the copy or the visual for the ad.  Knowing this information will allow you to focus on certain metrics and quickly pinpoint how well your ad is performing.    

 

 

 

3.     Is My Message Relevant or Timely?

 

Posting ads about Christmas ornaments in April is just not going to cut it.  There is no interest in Christmas ornaments during the spring so why would you run an ad at that time?  Whenever you are posting an ad, you want them to feel like they need to quickly act on your offer.  Is your sale happening that day? Do they get a discount if they sign up for e-mails?  Are you having an exclusive event they need to RSVP too?

 

Make sure your ad is highlighting something exciting enough for someone to actually click on.

 

 

Ads are always changing and it seems like we can never learn too much.  These questions are simple steps that will lead to the creation of positive momentum for your brand.
